Kamloops Village Garden Montessori Classroom

Every activity, lesson and material in a Montessori Classroom takes advantage of a child’s inherent desire to learn. The curriculum and teachers’ role are all carefully designed to honour self-paced growth while encouraging social cooperation.

Our classroom is divided into learning areas, which include math, science/cultural, practical life, art, library, language, sensorial, toys and puzzles. The teacher, on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, introduces the children to the activities in these areas. The activities begin with the simplest and progress to the more complex. Once the activities have been introduced, the children are free to choose activities on their own as their interest leads them.

Children are taught to honour kindness, compassion, mutual respect and peace through the curriculum in grace and courtesy.

By encouraging students to develop the independence and skills necessary to be self-sufficient in their classrooms, we prepare them to venture into the biggest classroom of all.

Why us?

Our schools are reputable centers for early childhood education for over 9 years.

Our programs are designed to promote independence, respect for self and others, and to instil a natural love of learning that children can carry with themselves throughout life.

"One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child." - Dr. Maria Montessori
